JOHN, BOBBY, TEDDY (THREE BROTHERS KENNEDY)

Words & Music: Tom Radd

This is a song about three great American brothers like no other,
John, Bobby, and Teddy Kennedy. Who else?

JOHN, BOBBY, TEDDY
THREE BROTHERS KENNEDY
ALL SONS OF THE U.S.A.
JOHN, BOBBY, TEDDY
THREE BROTHERS KENNEDY
SERVING THEIR COUNTRY EVERYDAY

They were born in Massachusetts
Harvard educated
Servicemen one and all
Elected by the people
Each brother more than able
To keep the faith when the nation called

CHORUS

They were young and democratic
Looking out for the other
Just trying to make a difference
From the White House to the Senate
No one could forget it
All the causes they fought in defense

CHORUS

Health care for all people
Space flight to other world’s
Civil rights and human rights
And better education for all boys and all girls

CHORUS

JOHN, BOBBY, TEDDY

Yeah!

Tom Radd's thoughts on the song
John, Bobby, Teddy (Three Brothers Kennedy)

“After the passing of Senator Edward Kennedy at the
end of August, I wanted to write a song that would try
to capture the energy and excitement that the
people of Massachusetts and the country felt when
they elected the Kennedy brothers into office. After
reading
Clarence Page’s column in the Chicago
Tribune, where he describes Ted as “the Senate's
most widely respected and trusted inside player,
even among those with whom he disagreed
politically,” I realized that all three brothers,
President John F. Kennedy and Senators Robert
Kennedy and Ted Kennedy, were more than just
Democrats. They inspired a nation and its people to
dream, to strive, and to reach for something better.”
