MICHAEL THE KID
(A TRIBUTE TO MICHAEL JACKSON - THE KING OF POP)
Words & Music: Tom Radd

MICHAEL THE KID
As a small town boy, Michael had a dream
That he would be a King of stage and screen
He worked hard, practiced everyday
Dancing and singing to the music his brothers played
MICHAEL, MICHAEL
MICHAEL THE KID
DANCE AND SANG HIS WAY TO THE TOP
AND THEN ONE DAY
MICHAEL THE KID BECAME THE KING, THE KING OF POP
When Michael felt that he was good enough
He went to the Wizard to show his stuff
After performing just one song
The Wizard of Hitsville said, “You’ll be a King before too long!”
MICHAEL, MICHAEL
MICHAEL THE KID
DANCE AND SANG HIS WAY TO THE TOP
AND THEN ONE DAY
MICHAEL THE KID BECAME THE KING, THE KING OF POP
The whole world loved him
Yes, they did
The music he made, made the whole world sing
As a small town boy, Michael had a dream
And when he grew up, man, he became a King
MICHAEL, MICHAEL
MICHAEL THE KID
DANCE AND SANG HIS WAY TO THE TOP
AND THEN ONE DAY
MICHAEL THE KID BECAME THE KING, THE KING OF POP

On what would have been Michael Jackson's 51st
birthday, Saturday, August 29, 2009, a new
children's song paying tribute to Michael Jackson
was digitally released worldwide via all major online
music retailers entitled "Michael The Kid (A Tribute
To Michael Jackson - The King Of Pop)." This song
is performed by Good News Tommy and is the first
original children's song to pay tribute to Michael
Jackson. Good News Tommy "The Singing
Reporter" is a new children's music artist, featuring
singer, songwriter and producer Tom Radd.
"This song does not mourn the death of Michael
Jackson, it's a celebration of his life" according to
Tom Radd. "All across the world, people have been
dancing and singing in the streets in order to pay
tribute to the King of Pop. This song was written in
that same spirit for Michael's fans and their children
to enjoy. The song's lyrics tell an inspirational story
of how a kid, through hard work and determination,
became a king." Tom Radd says: "Musically, the
song is influenced by artists like Jackie Wilson,
James Brown, Sam & Dave… these are the artists
that Michael Jackson listened to and loved as a kid.
I hope this song in some small way can help heal
the world, much like Michael did through his music."
