THE BALLAD OF THE BEATLES
Words & Music: Tom Radd
John, George, Paul and Ringo
The fab four own as The Beatles
They’re the finest rock and roll band across the land
From the first single “Love Me Do” to the last “Let It Be”
They wrote about peace and love so beautifully
JOHN AND GEORGE PLAYED GUITAR
RINGO PLAYED DRUMS
PAUL PLAYED BASS IN ROCK’S GREATEST FOURSOME
As lads from Liverpool
They met at school and formed a band
Hoping kids would twist and shout to the music they put out
At first, folks thought they were different
Cause they all had long hair
But being different is a trait that we all share
EVEN THOUGH THE BAND BROKE UP
A LONG, LONG TIME AGO
I FEEL THERE’S SOMETHING YOU SHOULD KNOW
John, George, Paul and Ringo
The fab four own as The Beatles
They’re the finest rock and roll band across the land
From the first single “Love Me Do” to the last “Let It Be”
They wrote about peace and love so beautifully
JOHN AND GEORGE PLAYED GUITAR
RINGO PLAYED DRUMS
PAUL PLAYED BASS IN ROCK’S GREATEST FOURSOME
The band, the band, the band plays on
Turn on the radio and I’m sure you’ll hear their song
The band plays on…

Tom Radd's thoughts on the song The Ballad Of The Beatles
“With The Beatles currently making news for their Rock Band video game and their remastered albums box topping the charts, it’s as if The Beatles never broke up. I was inspired to write “The Ballad Of The Beatles” after both hearing a story on NPR’s All Things Considered on why kids still go crazy for The Beatles, and reading pop critic Ann Powers’ Los Angeles Times music blog where she describes her daughters love for The Beatles as well as her thoughts on The Beatles as a form of children's music. I felt John, George, Paul and Ringo, the fab four known as The Beatles, would make an interesting topic for a children’s lullaby since, for nearly 50 years, they captured the hearts and minds of adults and kids alike.”
